LAVANCE WARREN

November 2013 Athlete of the Month

LaVance broke the McClyomonds school rushing record gaining over 2,000 yards and also scored 26 touchdowns in the 2013 season!

DEMARCUS COTTON

December 2013 Athlete of the Month

DeMarcus averaged 18 points & 5 rebounds a game in December & was voted ALL-Tournament in the West Winter Holiday Classic in Tracy.

DEZIRE HALL

December 2013 Athlete of the Month

Dezire recorded 31 points, 16 rebounds, 9 steals & 8 assists in a win at the Reno Silver Slam Tournament in December.  She also led the O.A.L in rebounds, steals, assists & free throws, while maintaining a 3.87 GPA!

DAISY POWELL

January 2014 Athlete of the Month

In January, Daisy recorded a double-double in 5 of 7 games, while averaging 18 points & 14 rebounds. She recorded 34 points in one game & 24 rebounds in another!  She was also voted the Most Valuable Player of the O.A.L.!

ISAIAH WALLACE

January 2014 Athlete of the Month

In January, Isaiah averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds & 2 steals a game. He received the “Sportsmanship Award” at the MLK Classic Tournament for his leadership in the community & finished the semester with a 3.50 GPA!

DARRIEN WASHINGTON

February 2014 Athlete of the Month

Darrien led her team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16 points & 11 rebounds a game. She also led her team to the O.A.L. finals and was ranked the #16 post player in the country by ESPN.

DEION ELLIS

February 2014 Athlete of the Month

Deion averaged 21 points & 12 rebounds a game this season. He also led McClymonds to a 3rd straight Oakland City Championship and was voted the Most Valuable Player of the O.A.L.!

ABRAHAM FONG

March 2014 Athlete of the Month

Abraham was the starting catcher at Skyline High School. In March he batted .500 in league games and .333 overall while maintaining a 4.0 GPA!

AIKO TAKATA

April 2014 Athlete of the Month

Aiko’s pitching dominated the O.A.L. helping her team go undefeated in league play. She led the league in ERA & strikeouts and was a team leader in batting average, runs scored & RBIs while maintaining a 4.0 GPA!

CRIS CASTILLO

April 2014 Athlete of the Month

Cris was one of the top pitchers in the O.A.L. routinely shutting down batters with his 90 mph fastball. He also batted over .300 as the Bulldogs lead off hitter and maintained a GPA over 3.0!

DESTINY SMITH-BARNETT

May 2014 Athlete of the Month

Destiny is one of the fastest high school sprinters in the country. She ran the 200m in 23.75a (3rd fastest time in CA). Her 100m time of 11.40a (2nd fastest time in CA), was the fifth fastest time in the country this year! She graduated with a GPA over 3.0!
