JIHAD STEPHENS

October Athlete of the Month

Jihad rushed for over 1,100 yards in the first eight games of the season. He scored 21 total touchdowns including; 16 rushing TDs, 3 kickoff returns and 2 punt returns for touchdowns!

JERRELL ALBERTY

November Athlete of the Month

Jerrell led the O.A.L. in rushing with over 1,900 yards & 20 touchdowns. He was the Oakland Athletic League’s Most Valuable Player & led McClymonds to their sixth straight Silver Bowl Championship!

RONALD RAGLAND

2015 Football Player of the Year

Ronald dominated both sides of the ball playing QB, WR, & DB. On offense he passed for 2,074 yards & 22 TDs, rushed for 860 yards & 8 TDs, had 282 receiving yards with 2 TDs and a kickoff return for a touchdown. On defense he recorded 35 tackles with 9 passes defended & 6 interceptions. Ronald led the O.A.L. with 33 total touchdowns and was voted ALL-City 1st Team quarterback.

LAYLANI ALLEN

February Athlete of the Month

Laylani & her teammate became the first girl wrestlers from Castlemont to win the North Coast Section Championship. Laylani did so by defeating her #1 seeded opponent in 52 seconds. She ended the season placing 5th at the California State Wrestling Championships and was an honor roll student with a 3.4 GPA!

JOANNA MACK

February Athlete of the Month

Joanna & her teammate became the first girl wrestlers from Castlemont to win the North Coast Section Championship. At the State Wrestling Championships Joanna suffered a loss in the 1st round before rattling off six straight wins to place 3rd in the state. Joanna maintained a 3.4 GPA and graduated in 2016.

MYAH PACE

2016 Girls Basketball Player of the Year

Myah was a leader both on the court and in the classroom. On the court she was voted league Co-MVP, All-East Bay 1st Team, and All-Metro 2nd Team. In the classroom she maintained a 3.86 GPA!

SOULEY BOUM

2016 Basketball Player of the Year

Souley averaged 20.3 points/game with his long range shooting. He was the MVP of the OAL for a second consecutive year and ended the season as an All-East Bay 1st Team & All-Metro 2nd Team selection!

LEO NIERENBERG

April 2016 Athlete of the Month

On the mound Leo led all Oakland pitchers in strikeouts (63) and ERA (1.59). Behind the plate Leo is hit .353 and was second on his team in hits (45). He has committed to play baseball for the University of Washington!

TIERRA ROBINSON-JONES

May 2016 Athlete of the Month

Aiko’s pitching dominated the O.A.L. helping her team go undefeated in league play. She led the league in ERA & strikeouts and was a team leader in batting average, runs scored & RBIs while maintaining a 4.0 GPA!
