PARIS AUSTIN
Paris took his game to another level in the 2014-15 basketball season. The 5’11” guard averaged 19 points a game and set school records for both points (43) and 3-pointers (12) in a game.
Paris began the first half of the state championship game shooting 0-for-7 from the field. In the second half he switched gears and finished with a game-high 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists leading his team to a 65-64 overtime win over Mater Dei and capturing his school’s first state title in over 30 years.
The Boise State bound guard finished his senior year as the WACC’s Co-Player of the Year and the San Francisco Chronicle’s Co-Player of the Year. Both awards he shared with fellow teammate and childhood friend Ivan Rabb.
In three seasons as starters, Rabb and Austin only lost one game to a Northern California team, won two Northern California Championships, one state championship and compiled a record of 82-13. During the 2014-15 season the pair didn’t lose to a California opponent and finished the year 28-4, ranked among the nation’s top 10 high school basketball teams.
